H-1 NMR detection of C-13-H-1 bonds by double C-13 editing: application to the discrimination of glucose metabolites
The discrimination of chemical groups based on the J selectivity of the C-13-H-1 bonds (J-editing or X-filter) may be dramatically enhanced by introducing selective C-13 pulses, which exploit the large C-13 chemical shift range. The double resonance pulse sequence presented in this paper, besides allowing indirect, selective C-13 detection with high signal to noise ratio, may also be used for imaging purposes. Results are presented on the efficacy of the method in selective glucose metabolite detection in aqueous solution.
