Using hydrogen and chlorine on Si(111) to store data, an improved model
Our previous suggestion for atomic data storage is tested using an improved model. Namely, a carbon nanotube is added to the tip and size of the cluster model used to simulate the surface is expanded. The ONIOM approach makes these tests possible. The tip-surface distances and interaction energies are found to be relatively insensitive to the model used.
