Foam and Foam Breaking - A Review
Foam and Foam Breaking - A Review. Many technical processes produce foams which complicate the performance of a given process or even make it possible. Foam breaking, therefore, becomes necessary. This paper outlines well known and new methods of foam breaking as well as the breaking principles. For the example of sprinkling, the influence of selected parameters on the destruction efficiency and the formation of secondary foam can be demonstrated. After a discussion the properties of foam, stabilizing and destabilizing effects, possibilities of foam characterization and foam avoidance are presented.
