Dissociative photoionization of H-2 at high photon energies: uncovering new series of doubly excited states
We present a combined theoretical and experimental study of dissociative photoionization of H-2 in the photon energy range 36-43 eV. Clear evidence for the existence of Q(3) and Q(4) doubly excited states (DES) in H-2 is provided by analyzing the kinetic energy distribution (KED) of emitted protons. Non-resonant ionization through very excited ionization thresholds is also observed for the first time. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
