Formation and geminate recombination of solvated electron upon two-photon ionisation of ethylene glycol
We produced solvated electron in ethylene glycol by two photon ionization of the solvent with a 263 nm fermosecond laser pulse and followed its dynamics by pump-probe transient absorption spectroscopy. For the first time, time resolved absorption spectra ranging from 450 to 725 nm and around 900 nm were measured revealing the rapid formation of a solvated electron's precursor which absorbs around 450 nm. We also analysed the geminate recombination of the solvated election. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
