Study of formation equilibria between [70]fullerene and a series of anisole by NMR spectrometric method
To improve the understanding of solution properties of [70]fullerene in aromatic solvents. binary systems of (70) fullerene with a series of anisole, viz., anisole, m-bromoanisole and p-bromoanisole have been studied in CCL4 medium by NMR spectroscopy. The complexes of [70]fullerene with the anisoles are shown to exhibit 1:1 ([ 70]fullerene: ani sole) stoichiometry. Formation constants (K) of the above molecular complexes are determined using NMR spectroscopic technique. The K values of [70]fullerene/anisole, [70] fullerenem-bromoanisole and [70]fullerene/p-bronioanisole give a good correlation of linear free energy relation-ship (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V.
