Linestrength of oxygen's atmospheric transitions from absorption data. II. The 1.27-mu m transition
In a previous study on intensity line parameters of oxygen's atmospheric bands in the visible (Chem. Phys. Lett.), appreciable contributions from spontaneous emission to absorption spectra have been shown. This has been achieved by analyzing some spectrum profiles in literature with the discriminating correlations method, i.e. with a double deduction of the branches linestrength by application of both absorption and emission calculations to absorption data. A similar approach is followed here on absorption data of the infrared atmospheric transition of oxygen. As in above mentioned study, the full (b) case of Hund, instead of intermediate (a-b), is confirmed to fit the intensity structure of transition. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
