Competition between the dissociation channels via (H)over-tilde <-(B)over-tilde(2)Sigma(+)(u) and (C)over-tilde(2)Sigma(+)(g)<-(B)over-tilde(2)Sigma(+)(u) transitions for CS2+ ions
A model is provided to deal with the competition between the [1+1] dissociation channel via H <- B-2 Sigma(+)(u)(000, 100) <- (X) over tilde (g,3/2)(000) transitions and the [1+1'] dissociation channel via the (C) over tilde (2)Sigma(+)(g) (000, 100) <- (B) over tilde (2)Sigma(+)(u)(000,100) (X) over tilde (2)Pi(g,3/2) (000) transitions for CS2+ ions. The dependence of the product branching ratios R = [S+]/[CS+] on the intensity ratios R-I = I-2/I-1, of two dissociation lasers was measured. By fitting the RI-R data with the theoretical formula the excitation cross section ratios of R-sigma(000) = sigma(c(000))/(sigma H(000)) = 0.55 +/- 0.07 and R-sigma(100) = sigma(c(100))/sigma(H(100)) = 0.43 +/- 0.04 have been obtained for the competitions between (C) over tilde (000) <- (B) over tilde (000) and (H) over tilde <- (B) over tilde (000) transitions, and between (C) over tilde (100) <- (B) over tilde (100) and (H) over tilde <- (B) over tilde (100) transitions, respectively.
