The 3(3)Sigma(+)(g) and a(3)Sigma(+)(u) states of Cs-2: Observation and calculation
Potential energy curves of the 3(3)Sigma(+)(g) and a (3)Sigma(+)(u) states of Cs-2 have been determined in the framework of the pseudopotential method. Fifty 3(3)Sigma(+)(g)v = 2-9 <- X-1 Sigma(+)(g) two-photn transiti'o'ns of Cs-2 have been observed in the near infrared wavelength range. Resolved fluorescence into bound levels and the continuum of the a(3)Sigma(+)(u) state has been recorded with a monochromator/photomultiplier detection system. Calculated 3(3)Sigma(+)(g) -> a(3)Sigma(+)(u) fluorescence spectra are compared with observed spectra. (C) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
