Homogeneous transition metal catalysis will only be used by industry if almost complete recycling of the expensive catalyst is guaranteed. This can be realized by using the liquid-liquid two phase technique in which the catalyst stays in one liquid phase and the products in another, This contribution gives a general survey of this technique and different ideas for its technical realization.
