Dinuclear metal complexes of phenylene-linked bis-beta-diketone ligands were prepared and the magnetic interactions between the complex units along the pi-conjugated linkers were investigated. Both ferro- and antiferromagnetic interactions were observed for the m- and p-phenylene-linked dimers, respectively.
