Organic reactions without solvent
Reactions involving organic solids are of both fundamental and applied importance. First, they provide a basis for understanding structure-property relationships in crystalline materials, and secondly, they offer opportunities (as yet largely under-exploited) for environmentally-friendly synthetic procedures requiring no solvent. The current state of the art is reviewed with special emphasis on possible practical applications.
