A novel two-dimensional layer manganese(II)-disulphide complex, [Mn(2,2'-DTDN)(H2O)(2)]n.2nH(2)O (DTDN2 = dithiodinicotinate) was synthesized and characterized, in which DTDN2- comes from the oxidation of MNA (2-mercaptonicotinic acid) followed by a deprotonation process in aqueous solution under aerobic condition. Hydrogen bond interactions among layers lead to the formation of three-dimensional network Structure.
