Synthesis of novel dendritic alpha-glycol ligands derived from DL-dithiothreitol and their application to ring-opening polymerization of epsilon-caprolactone
A series of dendritic ligands with an alpha-glycol core was synthesized through the coupling of DL-dithiothreitol with poly(aryl-ether) dendron in high yields. The corresponding aluminum dendrimers were applied as initiator to ring-opening polymerization of e-caprolactone. A dendritic effect on the polydispersity (M-W/M-n) of poly(g-caprolactone) was observed.
