Ester condensation from a stoichiometric mixture of a carboxylic acid and an alcohol at 313 K assisted by pervaporation via zeolite membranes
Ester condensation was conducted from stoichiometric mixture of a carboxylic acid and an alcohol (acetic acid and ethanol was used as a test reaction) at nearly room temperature (313 K), assisted by pervaporation via zeolite membrane with hydrophilic character. We Succeeded preparing the hydrophilic zeolite membrane tolerant against acidic environment, and the membrane worked stably to shift equilibrium.
