Ordered mesostructured silica monoliths (OMSMs) were prepared and after synthesis processed by a deep-UV irradiation to selectively oxidize their surfactants, and the UV-treated monolith exhibited a proton conductivity of 9.1 X 10(-3) S cm(-1), much higher than that of the calcined monolith, via the first investigation into their AC impedance responses.
