HETEROGENEOUSLY CATALYZED DEHALOGENATION GENATED ORGANIC-COMPOUNDS
Halogenated volatile organic compounds are a major source of air, soil and ground water pollution. A literature review is given about the catalytic destruction of halogenated hydrocarbons by hydrodehalogenation (hydrogenolysis) and by incineration. The topics of this study are: catalytic materials/reactivity of substrates/kinetics, mechanism and selectivity/self-poisoning/industrial applications.
