EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS OF THE KINETICS OF CATHODIC REDUCTION OF CHLORINATED HYDROCARBONS
The kinetics of the cathodic reduction of chlorinated hydrocarbons is investigated by use of a rotating disk electrode. Resulting from the measured current-potential relation, correlations for calculation of the electic current density as a function of the concentration of the organic component and the cathodic potential in several electrolytic solutions and for some cathodic materials are found out for the reduction of tetrachloroethene and 1,1,1-trichloromethane.
