THERMOSELECT - EXTRACTION OF ENERGY AND RAW-MATERIALS .3. MASS-ENERGY BALANCE UNDER CONSIDERATION OF THE ECONOMY OF USING SYNTHESIS GAS
Running an industrial plant for the THERMOSELECT-process enables the obtainment of reproducable product qualities and a large quantity of data used for mass-energy balances. Comparing prognoses and test results proves a net electric power output of 200 to 500 kWh/Mg considering oxygen demand and remelting of all gasification residues. The economic aspects of the different methods using synthesis gas are compared in consideration of investment costs and profit made from electric energy production. In contrast to the classical refuse incineration using only smoke gas energy, refuse gasification supplies a pure synthesis gas which can be used flexibly for chemical synthesis or electric energy production. The synthesis gas produced as well as the minerals and clear water remaining after the process are directly economically useful. In the field of thermal waste treatment the THERMOSELECT-process represents the most advanced technical level.
