Combining the advantages of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis: rhodium complex on functionalized MCM-41 for the hydrogenation of arenas
Functionalization of MCM-41 via the reaction of its surface silanols with proper agents yielded aminated and phosphinated materials, which were characterized and used to immobilize rhodium complex. These rhodium complex materials exhibited excellent performance in the hydrogenation of arenes under mild reaction conditions of 45 degreesC and 1 atm.
