Adsorptive separation of vapours of VCHC from inert gases by polymeric adsorbents and activated carbons .2. Dynamics of adsorption
The aim of the study was to investigate the adsorption of 1.1.1-trichloroethane and trichloroethylene vapour onto traditional and crosslinked polymeric adsorbents in comparison to activated carbons. Therefore the breakthrough curves were determined in dependence on the length of the bed and the input concentration. The results were used for the calculation of the measurements of the adsorber using methods of scale up (model of adsorption zone, LUB model). Also the break-through curves were predicted from equilibrium and kinetic data (equilibrium model and model of surface diffusion by Miura nad Hashimoto). A gradation of the adsorbents was possible in regard to its dynamic adsorption performance.
