Tolerance-computations using intervalarithmetic arc made on overall model and coupling element models of cascades consisting of linear elements. The significance of the input variables and their allowable tolerances are determined by fixed tolerance of the objective quantity The comparison of the two models indicates that a compromise could be useful. A system consisting of two heat exchangers is given as an example.
