Sakurai and Mukaiyama aldol reactions have been studied using (tetraMeBITIOP)silver(l) and (BITIANP)silver(I) complexes as catalysts; these complexes show high and comparable activities despite the differences in the electron availability and Lewis acid character of the phosphorus atoms.
