This article opens with a critical discussion of ＇＇laws of colour harmony,＇＇ which is followed by an examination of the diverse theoretical and empirical foundations for the relatively common concept ＇＇complementary colours.＇＇ Using the perceptual NCS-system for colour description as a basis, the authors have outlined a colour combination model, which is described briefly here.
