Crystal structure and magnetic properties of A(0.5)La(0.5)Mn(0.5)Ru(0.5)O(3) (A=Ca, Sr, Ba)
New compounds A(0.5)La(0.5)Mn(0.5)Ru(0.5)O(3) (A=Ca, Ba) have been prepared and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction. The crystal structure of the perovskite A(0.5)La(0.5)Mn(0.5)Ru(0.5)O(3) (A=Ca, Ba) has been refined by Rietveld method with X-ray diffraction data. The crystal structure of Ba0.5La0.5Mn0.5Ru0.5O3 has a cubic symmetry with the space group Pm (3) over bar m (a=0.396313(8) nm, Z=1). And the crystal structure of Ca0.5La0.5Mn0.5Ru0.5O3 has an orthorhombic symmetry with the space group Pnma (a=0.55316(1), b=0.77530(2), c=0.54775(1) nm, Z=2). Ferromagnetic properties of A(0.5)La(0.5)Mn(0.5)Ru(0.5)O(3) (A=Ca, Sr, Ba) were seen at low temperature, Magnetic susceptibility data indicating low temperature transitions (<200 K) and spin-glass behavior, attributable to the long-range structural disorder of the B-site cations.
