Dielectric behaviour and magnetoelectric effect in CuFe2O4-Ba0.8Pb0.2TiO3 composites
Composites with composition XBa0.8PbO0.2TiO3-(1 - X)CuFe2O4, in which X varies as 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8, 0.9 and I mol% have been prepared by ceramic method. The presence of the two phases has been confirmed by XRD. Variation of dielectric constant (epsilon ') with temperature at various frequencies has been studied. Two peaks are observed in dielectric constant versus temperature plots, which are assigned to ferroelectric phase transition and the other to copper ferrite phase transition (tetragonal-cubic). It is also noted that ferrite phase shows relaxation behaviour. All the samples show linear magnetoelectric effect in the presence of static magnetic field. The maximum value of magnetoelectric conversion factor (dE/dH) was found to be 230 (muV cm(-1) 1 Oe(-1)) in the composite with composition X = 0.7.
