Electrophoretic deposition of ligand-stabilized silver nanoparticles synthesized by the process of photochemical reduction
We present experimental investigations of electrophoretic deposition of ligand-stabilized silver nanoparticles (LSSN) which were synthesized by the method of photochemical reduction. The result indicates that synthesizing conditions of the LSSN, such as irradiation time during synthesis, and the concentration of surfactant, affect the formation of deposited ligand-stabilized silver nanoparticles (DLSSN). When the irradiation time was 5 min, the DLSSN was in the form of individual nanoparticles; however, when the irradiation time was 10 min, the DLSSD was in the form of single crystal silver film. The lower concentration of surfactant led to better quality single-crystal silver film.Higher depositing voltage led to coalescence of DLSSN.
