Density of molten calcium fluoride
Calcium fluoride is a representative alkaline earth fluoride that has been the subject of experimental and theoretical studies for years. But there were not so many works on the measurements of the accurate physical properties of CaF2 melts. In this work, the density of the CaF2 melts at the melting point is 2.594 g/cm(3), which is equal to the result obtained by Shiraishi (Bull. Res. Inst. Miner. Dressing Metal Tohoku Univ. 34 (1978) 1), but the temperature coefficient of the density is different from the results obtained by other investigators. (C) 2002 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
