The crystals of Nd3+-doped KLa(WO4)(2) with the dimension up to 26 x 24 x 3 mm(3) have been grown from a flux of K2WO4 by the top seed solution growth method. The solubility curve of K2WO4 in the solution has been measured. The segregation coefficients of Nd3+ in KLa(WO4)(2) crystal are 0.62. The preliminary spectral properties of Nd3+:KLa(WO4)(2) were investigated. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
