Determination of growth angles, wetting angles, interfacial tensions and capillary constant values of melts
This article explores the Voronkov approach to the problem of crystal surface formation in the crystal pulling process. The limits of fundamental condition of the growth angle (epsilon) constancy are discussed. Experiments and calculations are based on the shape of the small crystallized melt drops at the crystallization front after separation of the bulk crystal from the melt. The possibility of determination of the growth angle and the wetting angle (phi(mo)) of the crystalline surfaces is shown. A simple method for determination of the melts capillary constant (a) and the melt surface tension sigma(LG), based on measurements of the maximal meniscus height at the time moment of its breaking, is discussed.
