System Control of Energy-Efficient Batch Processes
In the present work several procedures for control and operation of integrated batch processes are reported. These procedures are directed at prediction, compensation and prevention of possible unexpected changes of the operating conditions (disturbances) and delays. For task simplification a structure analysis and fault-tree reliability analysis are suggested. A simple idle time shift enumeration procedure is studied for all different delay types and the maximum delay compensation is found. For basic analysis of process variability a new type of sensitivity tables have been developed - Time Sensitivity Tables. They give an opportunity for analysis of the system response and for finding different variants of compensation impacts in case of delays associated with temperature and flowrate changes (by the storage tanks, bypasses, additional heat exchange area etc.).
