Formation and characterization of europium bisphthalocyanine nanowires by electrophoretic deposition
Europium bisphthalocyanine (EUPc2) films Comprised of one-dimensional (ID) organic nanowires were obtained by the electrophoretic deposition (EPD) method from the mixed solution of chloroform and trifluoroacetic acid containing the protonated EuPc2. The dependence of structure and morphology on the concentration of the electrodeposition solution (C-EuPc2) and deposition time (T-d) was followed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-vis absorption and SEM. UV-vis spectra uncovered that the EuPC2 molecules tended to form H-aggregates in the growth process of the ID nanowires. The growth of I D organic nanowires could be controlled by tuning deposition parameters Of C-EuPc2 and T-d. The film growth mechanism during the electrophoretic deposition process was discussed as well. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
