PLD growth of La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 tilted nanocolumn boundaries on constricted step-edged GaAs substrates and MR properties
In this study, PLD growth of La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMO) tilted nanocolumn boundaries and their magnetoresistance (MR) properties at 77 K were examined. All LSMO films were grown on polycrystalline MgO substrates and step-edged (10 0) GaAs substrates (step-edge angles ranged from 0 to 100) by Ar-F excimer laser ablation (pulsed laser deposition) method. Grains were made up in the shape of the nanocolumns standing normal to the substrates surfaces. The intergrain magnetoresistances (IMRs) showed marked reduction against the magnetic field application below 100 mT, followed by a gradual change for further increase in the field. They clearly showed the nanocolumn boundary angle dependence in accordance with the extended Julliere's model. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
