BIOMATERIALS HIGHLIGHTS .10. ORTHOPEDIC RECONSTRUCTION - TAKING THE RIGHT APPROACH
Materials for hip joint replacements have to satisfy many requirements, some of which appear to be contradictory. The dangers of ignoring "side effects" and relying on just one technique, which may cause problems in the long term, are discussed. Potential sources of future trouble are also identified.
