CONTINUOUS POLYMER FRACTIONATION
Continuous polymer fractionation (CPF) has been developed to provide access to large amounts of well-defined fractions where it is impossible to synthesize polymers with a narrow molecular weight distribution. The principle of CPF and some details of its implementation are presented. Examples of fractionations are reported, together with problems that can arise and their solutions. As there is a widespread need for uniform fractions, it is anticipated that CPF will become a routine operation.
