Research News: The structural state of dendritic macromolecules at air-water and air-solid interfaces is discussed. The chemical architectures of dendritic molecules and the results of molecular modeling are briefly outlined before the various dendritic monolayers and multilayers are reviewed. The Figure shows a scheme of a multilayer self-assembled film obtained by layer-by-layer deposition of dendrimers and low molar mass ions.
