Alternative methods for membrane filtration of arsenic from drinking water
The Maximum Contaminate Level (MCL) for arsenic in drinking water is to be lowered in the United States. Membrane treatment is a viable method to meet the reduced MCL. The suitability of reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, ultrafiltration and microfiltration as an arsenic treatment method is investigated. Treatment recommendations are made based upon the results of several pilot studies.
