Catalyst systems for alkene polymerization based on metallocene complexes and phenoxy alumoxane with a perfluorinated phenyl group
This paper describes the use of pentafluorophenoxy alumoxane, an oligomeric compound containing -Al(OC6F5)-O- units, as a cocatalyst for metallocene complexes in alkene polymerization reactions. Pentafluorophenoxy alumoxane is produced by two alternative routes, The first route consists of two consecutive reactions: (a) the reaction of AIR(3) With C6F5OH, and (b) the reaction of the product of the first step with water. The second route is the reaction between methylalurnoxane and C6F5OH.
