Water availability and scarcity in the Arab region have been reviewed and the most outstanding technological constraints have been identified. The International Hydrological Program (IHP) of UNESCO has been overviewed and recommended as a regional framework for assisting in establishing a sustainable management approach to the scarce water resources of the Arab region.
