The effect of the chlorine content and the addition of Re on the surface and catalytic properties for the liquid phase hydrogenation of cinnamaldehyde on Ir/gamma -Al2O3 catalysts were studied. The results show that the increase in the amount of chlorine ions and the presence of Re modified the catalytic behavior improve the formation of cinnamyl alcohol.
