The effect of conformational chances on the catalytic transformations of n-alkanes
Temperature induced conformational changes of various alkanes were studied. n-Hexane was studied in order to demonstrate its ability to be involved in C-5 and C-6 ring closure reactions, while long chain alkanes, such as C-8, C-16 and C-24, were investigated with the aim to calculate their temperature dependent molecular diameter controlling their penetration ability into zeolite channels.
