Crotonaldehyde hydrogenation over bimetallic Rh-Sn/SiO2 catalysts
The hydrogenation of crotonaldehyde in liquid phase over co-impregnated RhSn/SiO2 catalysts with different Rh contents and a constant bulk atomic ratio Sn/(Sn+Rh) = 0.25 has been studied. The effect of reactant concentrations and the surface properties on the selectivity in the mentioned reaction was investigated. The acid properties of the catalysts, mainly due to tin oxide species and intermetallic phases, played an important role in the activity and selectivity for the unsaturated alcohol.
