Effect of Light on the Electrooxidation of Adsorbed Allyl Alcohol on Platinum-Electrodes
The electrooxidation of adsorbed species formed during allyl alcohol adsorption on a platinum electrode has been studied. Significant differences between measurements in the dark and under illumination confirm that the adsorption process is affected by the incidence of polychromatic light on the electrode surface. This may be attributed to a light-induced activation effect of the water adsorption on the electrode surface.
