EQCM study of iron deposition from Fe-II/Fe-III (EDTA) solutions
The complex polarisation behaviour of the Fe-II(EDTA) and Fe-III(EDTA) has been studied on a platinum rotating disc electrode. Iron deposition from both complexes was investigated by electrochemical quartz crystal microgravimetry (EQCM). A mass inc, ease of the electrode, indicating iron deposition, was found at potentials below -1.0 V vs see. The partial current of iron deposition calculated from the mass growth data was found to be close to the value of a diffusion limiting current density. Iron deposition was also confirmed by EDX analysis.
