Polyethyleneoxide-dihydrophenazine block copolymer as a cathode material for lithium-polymer batteries
Polycondensation of N,N'-bis-(2-hydroxypropyl)-dihydrophenazine with end tosylated short polyethyleneoxide chains gave rise to a new block copolymer alternating electroactive molecular units with cation solvating segments. Typical voltammetric waves of the dihydrophenazine units were obtained from organic liquid solution of this copolymer. Solid state electrochemistry in a lithium-polymer cell afforded promising battery performances.
