Decoration of steps at Pt single crystal electrodes and its electrocatalytic effect
Preferential blockage of step sites by Cu and Sn of a Pt(332) and Pt(755) electrode is achieved by partial desorption of full monolayers. In the case of Pt (332), desorption of Cu from terrace sites is of 0th order. Probably due to the regular arrangement of Sn atoms, the Pt (332) electrode partially covered by Sn shows a remarkable catalytic effect on CO oxidation.
