Mechanism of hydrogen absorption in Zr0.9Ti0.1Ni1.1Co0.1Mn0.6V0.2 alloy during alkali treatment with a boiling 6 M KOH solution
A boiling 6 M KOH aqueous solution was used for the alkali treatment of Zr0.9Ti0.1Ni1.1Co0.1Mn0.6V0.2 alloy in this work. Under such severe conditions, hydrogen was absorbed;in the alloy and selective dissolution of the aggressive components: occurred. The mechanism of hydrogen absorption during the alkali treatment is discussed.
