Control of pitting sites on Al for electrolytic capacitors using patterned masking film
Pitting sites on an Al foil for electrolytic capacitors were controlled by printing a hole-array mask on the foil. This process included the formation of a thin rubber film on a hole-array stamp, and the transfer of this film onto Al by microcontact printing. A thin rubber film with a hole-array configuration on Al functioned as an insulating mask during Al electrochemical etching. Consequently, highly ordered square pits with an arrangement identical to that of the holes of the rubber film were successfully obtained. (c) 2006 The Electrochemical Society.
