Nonthermal electrochemical synthesis of single-phase, porous, nanostructured BiFeO3 platelets
In this study, a novel nonthermal electrochemical process for depositing single-phase BiFeO3 platelets on copper substrate from bismuth(III) and iron(III) nitrate solution at room temperature has been developed. The overall platelet size was about 20-25 nm. Dielectric measurement revealed normal oxide behavior with frequency. Due to the large surface area and porous structure, these films find potential applications in supercapacitors, dye-sensitized solar cells, and gas sensors. (c) 2006 The Electrochemical Society.
