Resonance Raman intensity analysis of an intramolecular charge-transfer process
We present an analysis of the resonance Raman intensities of an intramolecular charge-transfer transition using a time-domain formulation of the Raman scattering process. This analysis provides mode-specific reorganization energies for the vibrational modes that couple to the photoinduced charge-transfer event. In addition, the absolute magnitude of the resonance Raman intensities allows the surrounding solvent contribution to the reorganization energy to also be determined. The analysis demonstrates that for the intramolecular charge-transfer considered here the solvent reorganization is of a similar magnitude to the combined intramolecular reorganization energies.
